What to Expect at Your First Chiropractic Visit

Visiting a chiropractor for the first time can feel a little daunting — especially if you're not sure what to expect. At Quesada Family Chiropractic in Antioch, CA, we do everything we can to make your first visit comfortable, informative, and reassuring.

    Step 1: Consultation

Your visit begins with a one-on-one conversation with Dr. Quesada. He'll ask about your health history, current symptoms, lifestyle habits, and goals. This isn't just paperwork — it's a genuine dialogue so he can understand the full picture of your health.

    Step 2: Examination

Next comes a thorough physical examination that may include a postural analysis, orthopedic tests, range-of-motion evaluation, and neurological assessments. If necessary, X-rays may be taken on-site to get a clear view of your spine's structure.

    Step 3: Report of Findings

Dr. Quesada will explain his findings in plain language — what's going on in your spine, why you may be experiencing your symptoms, and what a care plan might look like. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions before any treatment begins.

    Step 4: Your First Adjustment

If appropriate, you'll receive your first chiropractic adjustment. Most patients describe the experience as a gentle, targeted movement with a satisfying release of tension. Some feel immediate relief; others experience mild soreness that resolves within 24 hours.
